Thanks for posting your report. Disappointment is a favorite of mine. Sounds like you had a great time.

Thanks for the Trip Report fitgers1. I am glad you and your group had a great time. I am glad the bears didn't bother you. Didn't you have reservations about taking a campsite that said "run off by a pack of bears" two days before? It sounds like that area gets heavy use. It must be nice. Thanks for your service in the Navy. 20 years is along time. I am glad you are back enjoying northern Minnesota again.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, we had a great time. Wish we would have gotten into the walleyes and I was hoping to do some hiking around Disappointment Mountain but that didn't happen. Not a bears fan? Why? Because I didn't explore the island with Gary? Bears don't bother me, I just wanted to paddle on my own a bit. I can say that I am not a Chi-town Bears fan though! We didn't actually stay at that site with the "pack of bears" note. Our site was a long ways away on the south end of the lake. It is a pretty good sized lake and it did have a lot of use. A lot of traffic through it to points east. The lake is very nice and makes for an easy trip. The guy that took our site goes in about a weekend a month he said (from Hibbing if I recall). I apologize for messing up my write up on the first couple days. I started writing the report in Aug. 2010 and just realized yesterday I never finished it. Then I typed it out from my notes in a hurry as I had to be somewhere last night. Someday I'd like to go back but there are so many other good places to go. Saturday we are headed back. Going in at Kawishiwi Lake and up to Malberg. Much farther in this time! Looking forward to it.
Cheers!
