Nice report. We know that 'moose trail' well. Took it between Slim and Fat in 2009. When we were there, there was a stack of 4 fist sized rocks marking the entrance on Slim. Got pretty wet with all of the brush and dew as it was early in the AM when we hit it. We were told it was 200 rods, where it is more like 260-280. Were kind of worried we had strayed off the trail and were bushwhacking through no man's land! Funny thing is, our group is also from Ohio!

Never criticize someone until you walk a mile in their shoes....by then you'll be a mile away and they will be shoeless!

Great report, love all that enthusiasm. You guys have good taste, taking a trip to the BW and deciding to make it an annual tradition. Can't beat that.

Enjoyed your report. It brought back memories of my trips in that area - EP#14/EP#16. I like the area you were in a lot. Where do you plan to go next year? :)

This year we are starting at Stuart River (with the monstor 480 rod portage) heading north/east through crooked and exitig Mudro. 7 days this time and 4 of us this year. Can't wait. The trip is Aug 13, hopefully I'll get this year'st trip report posted a little sooner.

Our first trip started at EP 14. Nice area. Your meals sounded awesome and I like the idea of bringing asparagus- hadn't ever considered it.
