That was great. I loved the firewood story. I can just picture you sitting around the fire listening for wood to fall.

My trips never go exactly as I plan them either, but you still need a plan. My plans are more realistic now :). I'm sure your newbie learned some things and I hope you have a great trip with your boys.

Better late than never! Good report! It got me out of the house and into the Bdub (in my mind at least).

Great loon shot! Fun to think of pulling in at 3am to have tents already set up for you.

Sounds like about how far I will get when I tackle that entry this year. Ah well, there's such a thing as savoring the moment. It doesn't have to be a crazy trip covering lots of ground to be a good trip.

Thanks for writing it up!

Good job Aaron. Sounds like you had a great trip. Too bad the trees ate your toys. And now you have some buddies to go back with.

By the way, check out this Thread and come meet some fellow trippers.

Did this as a 5 day portage clearing trip some 6-7 years ago. Spent our 1st night on LBFalls, 2nd on 18 Island on Friday Bay, 3rd on Gun and 4th Fourtown (as I recall). You likely would have made it through with your original plan.
Wind could have been a determining factor, and may have fowled your plans if you had tried. Best to play it safe.
Great report!
Thanks.

Just when you think you have seen it all, firewood from trees. Outstanding. Loved thinking about my trip thru the same area.
