what a wonderful trip for your group! IMO...your situation and the acts of kindness by fellow campers is what the BW is mostly about. can't say ALL cuz someone is bound to challenge that!

this experience will stick with the youth in your group forever and someday they will have the opportunity to 'pay it forward' whether it's in the BW or some other place in the world.

thanks for sharing.

Glad you liked the story, Mocha. I've now made 20 different trips to canoe country and this is the coolest thing that's happened to me in all of those trips. When these people helped us I was so grateful and so fatigued that it was all I could do to hold back tears. I'm still fighting them (and losing) as I think of it now a week later.

Great story.

While we pray for good weather , in hindsight, nobody ever remembers the trip where nothing went wrong. It is the struggles and the storms... And the overcoming... That makes for the best memories.

I say all that at my own peril. My son and I are leaving Monday for the BWCA.
