Excellent report Turkish (with great pics)! I plan to go on part of this loop in the near future, so it was very helpful. Thanks for the time and energy you gave in putting the report together.

Great report. I too enjoyed the pictures. I have done portions of the route and loved every minute of it. Snowbank is always a gamble.

Neat report. My son and I have done most of that route with a memorable trip also. The site you had on Ahsub was one we tried to get but it was taken. Looked like a pretty place up off the lake. Ahsub is a trout lake and we had high hopes but only caught a few bass as I recall. We never fished Adventure lake and wish now we'd tried. When we were on Ashigan we had the site across the lake from you. It looks like you had the site immediately to the left of the portage exit. When we were fishing and went by that site the people on it were all in their chairs pointing up. There was an eagle in the tree right by where your canoe was. Never saw one that near people and low to the ground up there. Pretty neat. Our trip to Ensign was like a crowded highway - lots of people but we did well with smallies on Ensign. We did the long trip NE on Snowbank to Boot lake on a different trip. We had wind but it was a funny wave we had to fight. Not whitecaps so much as very large rollers. That is a large lake and you take your chances on those.

Your report brought back fun memories for me and I thank you for sharing it.

Thanks for the great report! I'm looking for our second route through the BWCA for summer 2014 and this looks like a strong contender. Visited your pics on photobucket and especially liked the map.
