great report. I love the area entering at Lizz/Swamp and it would be so cool to see in the winter.

I enjoyed the Trip Report and Photos Dan. Thanks for posting. The new tent design looks great. How did it work? Did you design it? At first glance it looks like a Snowtrekker style tent.
Is that the old tent next to it with the green on the roof?
Sounds like it was a great trip.

The shape of the tent is unique design I came up with. It worked well I believe. There is your typical condensation issues with single wall tents, but manageable. Room For 3 squeeze 4. 8 foot at the peak and 6 foor at the door. 30" knee wall all around. 8'across at the back, 8 1/2 feet back from the peak 10 foot wide at the peak, and 5 foot wide at the door. Being all white it really was bright in the day and reflected well in the evening. It came in at 6 1/2 lbs in stuff sacks with poles and snow anchor bags and ropes. in the one picture you can see the snow anchor flaps around the base.
The tent with a green is my old octagon tent with a 10 foot peak. made it that tall so a couple of friends that are 6'6" tall can stand up in. Great trips with good folks.

I had the pleasure of touring Dan's green octogon tent at the Winter Camping symposium at the end of October. I was very impressed.

I set a goal of losing 10 lbs. this year. I only have 15 left to lose.
