Entry Point 14 - Little Indian Sioux River North

Little Indian Sioux River (north) entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by La Croix Ranger Station near the city of Ely, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 32 miles. Access is a 40-rod portage heading North from the Echo Trail.

Thanks for the report and great pictures! I like that area south of Crab because you hardly see anyone down there. I thought Boulder was a pretty lake, but it seemed like the campsite didn't have very good tent pads, what did you think?


Never heard of a garter snake biting anyone before . . .

I enjoyed the lake also. We also like the area south of crab because it gets so little use. Other than the Dnr guy we haven't seen anyone in two trips through. Our group had two tents and it was tight for them. They pretty much shared a tent spot. However, my son and I both used hammocks and we had no trouble finding a spot to sleep!
