Thanks - I enjoyed your trip report. I am glad you and your nephew had a good trip. We'll be on the end part of your route in a couple of months, so that information will be really helpful.

Wow! That brought back memories of about 6 years ago when I took my oldest son on that loop. It was an adventure for both of us! We did see a moose and I caught my first Laker on Wine lake on our last night. Thanx for the great re-trace of a great memory!

Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.

I'm glad you enjoyed my report. We really enjoyed the challenge of this route. We found that 5 days was a very comfortable pace and we have plenty of time to enjoy the lakes once we arrived. We really liked the solitude of the Louse river. Adventure is really the right word to describe the trip. This was my first time really getting away from the lakes that are 3 or 4 portages from the entry point and it's definitely worth the extra effort to get to those lesser traveled areas.

I feel the same about the lesser traveled areas. The crowd seems to really thin out by the second day of travel.
