Nice video - looks like a successful trip for sure!

Turns out not where, but who you're with that really matters... DMB

Great report and you're from Iowa, so that makes it a little better. Where at in IA? We're doing parts of your route in a week and a half and hope to have similar luck fishing.

When you say big current is interesting, is that bad/good or just a different site to see? We're planning on going there as well.

Have an email I can ask a few other questions?

I'd love to make that trip to see some of those sites like the pictographs, artifacts, and the falls. Loved the pics & video!

And now that I've watched the video, the Iowa State flag makes it that much better. Well done! We'll match up with your route (for the most part) from Lower Basswood on.

Great photos and video!! I see you guys use the Buff headwear too, except you must be using them for bug protection.

Cyclone30, Yes we are from Manchester, Iowa and my son will be attending Iowa State in the fall majoring in engineering. We used the flag as a camp marker just in case we missed my brothers at curtain falls. I thought big current was interesting because you are paddling around in a lake environment and then you come along to some fast moving water, nothing dangerous. My email is patphillips40@gmail.com

Oldfinger, Yes we liked the Buffs so much that I don't think we wore our headnets the whole trip. Sprayed with permethrin they worked great.
