Good one! Like the maps!

Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.

I'm confused, it was last fall but says it was posted today?

Either way, nice trip and pictures. I took the exact same route in my last trip up there, some familiar spots but we were before the fire. (until you turned off at Seagull, we went into Sag and ended at the end of the Gunflint)

Yes, I've been slacking at getting trip reports completed. I still have a few more to go! :) Glad you enjoyed this one.

Just an FYI- My third trip was in late fall to Alpine and it was a drop dead gorgeous lake! (This was years and years and years ago.) Great for small day trips, numerous loon friends including a "grown" child who yelled at his parents all day for food. My heart broke as I followed the fire and realized it had gotten so burned. Thanks for the Alpine pictures especially- it is coming back. All the pictures were really nice and your maps are great. Thanks!

Yep. I sure wish I could have seen alpine lake before the fire. Thankfully it is greening up now. Many of the campsites survived though. Some really nice ones on alpine.
