Hilarious. Did you learn not breaking fishing rules cutting your teeth at Tanners?

Of course not everyone knows all our sewers run into Tanners, I wouldn't fish there. I do still deer hunt at Phalen though.

Why go way over to Phalen when there’s all that space in Ramsey (Battle Creek) Park? Just don’t drive the deer too close to Century Ave. If you happen to get off a shot it might make the guards at the Workhouse nervous. : )

Love your style! Uncle Jethro taught you well. This trip had it all; beer, girl scouts, ingenuity, Dinty Moore farts, bears, nakididity, bottle rockets..... woooooeeeeee! Can't stop laughing. Next time bring the dog and let Fido take the pictures?

As an Eagle Scout and a veteran of 24 Quetico trips, it never occurred to me that "leave no trace camping" could include clearing the camp area by flinging all the beer cans far away into the woods in multiple directions. Great humor story.
I have actually seen people do most of these things, but never all at once and never so proudly done. Nice story. Eyedocron

I skipped the first day and started reading on day 2. At first I thought you were serious, wasn't until day 3 that I totally realized it was a joke. I almost had to stop reading it a few times. I just had my appendix taken out yesterday (Seriously) and the few Laproscpic (sp) incisions were hurting and I couldn't control my laughing.

Nice one.

May the rivers be crooked and winding, and your portages lonesome, leading to the most amazing view.

I forwarded this to my daughter who went with me last summer to the Q, and who later last year had a real encounter with 2 mountain lions while soloing on the Colorado trail-her response:
Dad,
This story made me cringe the whole time, I wish the bear had killed him. He is everything that is wrong with people who go into the wilderness-what an ignorant white trash idiot, sorry this all just pissed me off. The fact he has 3 kids also makes me concerned there are 3 more future idiots the same as him.
