That sounds like an adventure. We have all had trips like that!

Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.

Good report and you went thru a few areas I want to see sometime soon. Those portages between Mudro and Fourtown are not the most fun. (esp with others around)

Luckily last year we had them all to ourselves.

Awesome report! I'm sure those "aggravations" were aggravating at the time - but isn't that the beauty of the BWCA - the moment you step out you forget all of the hard and trying times and only remember how completely epic it was!!!

My favorite lake in the BWCA is also Gun Lake. I really wanted to camp there, but we camped on the east Fairy site instead. I was happy to not hear wolves while staying there for three days, but we did hear plenty of loons and grouse!

The trip was great, the aggravations were minor. I can't wait to get back!
