Just wanted to know what Souris River canoe you were using that you thought was so tippy? I've got a 17 and an 18.5 and they are rock steady loaded or empty. Nice report, sounds like fishing was pretty good, nice weather, good company. Sounds like your Dad enjoyed himself, don't count him out of futher trips. FRED

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fourtune to remember the ones do, and the eyesight to tell the differance.

Hmmm, I bet it wasn't a Souris? In the beginning he mentioned "Mad River" and the shallow-V hull of a Mad River has little initial stability, but tons of stability as it "Rests" on one side or the other. The combination of a shallow-V Mad River and a hangover makes me "Dizzy" just imagining it (LOL)!

I agree with not counting your dad out on future trips. And I'm curious about the KFC story, too (LOL)?

Oh, and "Two man tents" aren't what they used to be, are they? Maybe two "Newlyweds?"

Nice report. The last day of the trip is always bittersweet.

And I'm curious about the KFC story, too (LOL)?-You don't want to know. Lots of breaks were needed shortly after eating.

Hmmmmmm. I always thought the Explorer has pretty good initial. Maybe it's just been too long since my first days in canoes.
