Nicely done. Thanks for the report and glad to hear the boys loved it.

Excellent trip report. On the east side of Sawbill, across the lake and just to the north of the Kelso portage is a good campsite. It is back in a small bay. Perhaps a 45 minute paddle back to the Sawbill EP. It doesn't show up on all maps. It's perhaps a mile or so north of #914 in that big bay.

Way to go Dad! Nothing better than spending time in the BWCA w/ your kids. My daddy/daughter trips are my favorite.

Lot's of connections here..... My daddy/daughter trip w/ my 7yo this year was Sawbill to Smoke, my wife and I stayed at "The Ritz" on our fall trip 2 years ago and daytripped to Cherokee, on my solo last month I had my 1st ranger visit in over 15 trips.

It's unreal how busy it can get at the Sawbill landing. After I exited at Kawishiwi on my solo I went to Sawbill to shower and the little turn around by the landing was full of cars and they were lined up all the way to the intersections with the stop signs.

Great report and thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the tip. Considering the Louse River via Sawbill next year. Location fits site 876.

Thanks for the report, glad you, your friend, and the boys had a good trip.

P.S. I keep my camera in my shirt pocket, but attach a strap to it which I wear around my neck.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. It was a really good trip and everyone can't wait to go up again next year.

Normally I am really careful about my camera, just got a little careless. A strap is a great idea, one that I will definitely implement next year. It has a wrist strap but that doesn't work so well when paddling, will replace it with a neck strap next time.

Duck, that is pretty cool we had so many connections. Hope your Daughter had as good as time as our boys did!
