Entry Point 23 - Mudro Lake

Mudro Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Kawishiwi Ranger Station near the city of Ely, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 19 miles. Three accesses into Mudro Lake involve portages ranging from 20–185 rods.Easiest access is from private la nd with parking fee.

Nice report. We were in that area same time of the year in 2014. Except we took Sandpit to Jackfish Bay and stayed the first night above the upper falls. Then stayed between Wed/Thurs bays and then Friday Bay for a couple days and then out through Gun and Fourtown.

I've encountered that, too: A moderate Southwest wind that gets channeled down between the hills and along the barrel of gun lake can become rather strong. It seems narrow and protected- unless the wind is coming from just that one direction.
