I enjoyed your report. I'm glad you were able to realize your dream and get back to the BW. I've been on those lakes and over most of the portages at one time or another; did a similar trip about 6 years ago in the opposite direction. Long Island to Muskeg was fun with the boulder field, downed trees, and up & over the beaver dam, but there was moose there as compensation. The wall was a tough climb, but I thought "wouldn't want to go down either, especially if wet". You guys did some work on your trip. I've always liked Snipe Lake, too; just stayed at that site a few weeks ago. Thanks for the report and the memories.

Thanks for the report. I'm glad that you were able to get back and to finally be joined by your wife. Would she do it again? I'm hoping to do it in reverse next fall. The main reason for doing it in reverse is that the winds are more often out of the west than the east and was hoping to be going with the wind not against it. I'll stretch it out a few days and spend a couple nights on Gaskin and a couple nights on Horseshoe.

Thanks for the fine report, and welcome back to the BW. Glad it worked out well for you both. The big question is this: did this 4 day trip get it out of your system, or did it get the BW into your system??

Nice report, pretty area. Love Tuscarora Outfitters as well. Last three trips have spent the night before there. All of our trips have been loops and ended there for a Mt. Dew and a shower as well. Happy Paddling!!!

You folks ate well! I was surprised to read of the temps as I think of August as a hot month.
Thanks for sharing.

The 2018 trip got the BWCA into our system. Wife and I are headed back in August 3rd. Hitting kind of the same area, entry point 48 (Meeds). Hoping for a little better weather this year. Can't wait to get back in the wilderness.
