Trip Introduction:
First bwca trip for my son and myself and last?

Day 1 of 2

Tuesday, May 28, 2019 we get a tow from moose lake to Indian portage heading up to knife lake. We realize a few minutes after being dropped off we don't have any paddles still in the pickup. What a way to start the trip out, fortunately we seen the tow operator use his cellphone from a certain spot and we were able to get through and have some paddles dropped off. The rest of the day went pretty well got used to paddling , reading the map and a good system down for the portaging. The biggest problem that just was not going away is what people call the black fly hatch now I don't know what type of bug they really are(specific name) but they are the most annoying bug I've ever seen worse than mosquitos! After getting camp set up and realizing the only way to get some relief from these buggers was to hide in my hammock screen I was ready to pack it up and head out in the morning! Which we do

Day 2 of 2

Wednesday, May 29, 2019 We get up about 6:30 great to cold for the crazy bugs. We're able to have a good breakfast, tear down and pack up camp and head for home 2 days early before those little buggers start attacking again adios fly's we're outta here. Paddle on back to our pickup point and just hoping to get a hold of outfitter and get a tow out yet today we've had enough! Good by bwca! Fortunately we finally get through to outfitter and their able to get us out!
