Report

5/26 Portaged to Crab Lake and did some smallie fishing on our way in. Caught many 15" fish on jerkbaits.

5/27 Stayed last night on Cummings descent campsite. Fished all day for smallies not much size. They were eating jerkbaits, flukes, poppers, sammys, grubs.

5/28 Portaged to Neewin for Pike. Portage was easy but a little brushy. Caught probably 50 pike on swimbaits, cranks, chatterbaits.Biggest went mid 30's.

5/29 Portaged to Buck lake. Long portage but good shape. Last 200 yds very wet. Caught 22 walleye in buck some good sized and a couple big pike. All walleye on firetiger grubs with pink jighead.

5/30 Paddled back to Crab lake caught many nice sized smallmouth 2-3lbs.

Cummings lake was a nice lake but the quality of fish was very poor. We could catch 200+ fish a day but they were not very big. Crab offered up a much larger average fish than cummings.
