That side can get very windy. Travel early and be prepared.

Be careful with your daughter going up to those lakes. I would take some snacks along and be ready to assist her every step of the way. Good luck! Marc

If you can get it, grab the lone site on the south shore of Pine. It's a pretty good site that best sets you up to tackle those portages to Gadwall and Vale. P.S. be ready to climb!


Also, since you'll be in the area, be sure to check out Johnson Falls and the big cedar tree.

Last week I posted a message about Secret Brook Trout fishing spots and have to thank everyone that replied - As suggested I did some serious research and pretty well looked at every Brook Trout lake in the BWAC as noted on the DNR site.

I also received some great input from other members of this site. So I will be hitting the water at EP 68 on May 23rd with my 11 year old daughter for a 5 night 6 day trip - pretty sure I have my route figured out but any and all advice from anyone that knows this area (my first time in this area of the park) would be appreciated.

All I can say is May 23rd can not come fast enough!
