Out of season and day hiking are not quota permits, thus they remain free. I'm fine paying for overnight hiking during the season even though volunteers do more maintenance on the trails than the FS. We were at Eagle Mountain on labor day weekend this year and the parking lot was completely full. All day hikers. |

09/28/2018 10:28PM I think the key word in the new rule is quota as in this applies to all quota permits. It doesn’t apply to the self-issued permits. Or they will need to install credit card readers at all the EPs. |

09/28/2018 08:21PM I think only day use motor permits will be $6.00. The other two, paddling & hiking are self issued permits. Thought you meant overnight hiking, sort of missed the "day use" part in your message, sorry! |

09/28/2018 08:10PM So a day trip to rose falls using a Duncan entry will be 6$? Is there a separate quota for day hiking paddling? I realize day use motor already has day use quota. |

09/28/2018 07:58PM It didn't specify that it was only for paddling, so think hiking is same fee. |

09/28/2018 02:26PM Do you interpret the bulletin as including day use hiking in the $6.00 fee? Example: Eagle Mtn, or we dayhiked the angleworm loop last year. Assume offseason permits will still be free and not reservable. |

09/28/2018 02:00PM New changes to the Recreation.gov site; one is that any permit, whether reserved or done within 24 hours/same day, will be charged a $6.00 reservation fee. Overnight, hiking, day use motor, all $6.00. |
