I pack out the fish that remains in my belly when I leave.

joewildlife: It is totally stupid and misguided to tell people to bury fish remains. That is the dumbest thing those at the Boundary Waters tell you to do. Those fish guts belong much, much further from camp than you are going to bushwhack anyway. And you can't hardly dig a decent hole in most cases. Deep six the remains if you think there will be other people around who might object to carcasses laying around. "
Completely agree. Can't stand that rule of burying remains in the BWCA.

I usually clean my fish on an island away from camp, and leave the remains conspicuously on the rocks for the gulls and eagles to clean up. IF I have to clean them at or near camp, I will deep-six the remains.

Janice at Cache Bay has always told us to deep-six the remains. Then we always joke about "and where do you clean your fish?" To which we reply "the other guy's campsite!"

How this varies over the years. Once it was bury them deep away from shore and a couple of years it was paddle out and put them on a rock in the lake for the eagles to swoop down and grab them.

When the ranger at PP asked (5/21/19)me how I disposed of fish guts I told them I dumped them over deep water. They said perfect.

It seems like the rules have changed on this topic a few times and it's been a few years since I've been in the area.
So, what's preferred method when it comes to disposing of fish remains in Ontario this year?
