We've done this entry many times. It is really nice and the river has never given us any trouble. You'll enjoy this spot I'm sure. Good luck!

I was there last May when the water levels where low. I had no problems on the river

I came up Moose R from LLC last Sept when water levels were low in all the lakes...not a problem in the river, although a couple spots were thick with weeds/lily pads that slowed the paddle down quite a bit....never had to get out the canoe except for the large beaver dam just south of Nina Moose and the normal portages.....

The upper portion of the river has been flooded by a beaver dam so that section has not been a problem in recent years. As you get closer to Nina Moose you may encounter several small beaver dams that you may have to get out and pull your canoe over.

I've never seen it dry in 3 trips through. Enjoy your trip.

Unless it's been super dry leading up to your trip (like fire ban dry) I'd think you'll be ok

We've entered or exited through EP 16 six different trips, all of them in Sept. 1 year we had to get out and walk the canoes through a short stretch of the river south of Nina Moose Lake. In this area, the river had a very firm sand bottom so the walking was nice. All other trips we were able to paddle the full distance with no problems.

I'm currently planning my September solo trip, and I am interested in EP 16 (Moose River North). What is the river like (normally) in September? Will I be able to paddle the distance (outside of the noted portages)? Does it dry up?

I'll be 71 in September, and I don't want to slog through muck the whole way. But I would love to try this EP, it's a new one for me. Anyone been there in September? Any advice is welcome!

Thanks!

Dave
