05/28/2021 02:40PM Only certain Garmin devices are compatible with the mapping. You get a download version and an SD card version. Go to the Garmin website though and make sure the in reach device you have is compatible. The website lists the devices. TOPO Boundary Waters Download PART NUMBER 010-D1025-00 $ 99.99 USD |

05/28/2021 11:54AM Are you talking about a SIM chip that allowed you to download the Q/BW database onto it? Or is that something directly from Garmin? I'm just curious. I have an inreach as well and portaging along the border looking for those routes and campsites would obviously be helpful :) |

05/28/2021 10:42AM Sorry for the late response. That was Navionics on my phone and I had to hand enter all the waypoint markers. Worked great in 2019 and tracked that whole trip. Every day! Last year in 2020 it shut off everyday and didn’t work for the tracking any day we travelled. This year I’ve got a Garmin in reach device with the BWCA Quetico chip in it so all the campsites and portages are marked. Ryan |

05/19/2021 09:48PM I've never found the US side portage in that area. I've always used the Canadian side. It's very obvious....and easy. |

05/18/2021 10:31PM I asked the same question last year. Last portage going into Knife is on the Canadian side and that is the one everyone was using! Ryan |

05/11/2021 09:18PM The Canadian one is the only one we found when doing that route. And you can use it still |

05/11/2021 12:50PM Seed to Knife? Agree with TuscaroraBorealis. Even in 2020-2021. Here's another Q&A on that one |

05/11/2021 12:30PM We are heading in on Sunday the 16th. Going from EP25 Moose and taking the tow to the Sucker/Birch portage. We are heading to the south arm of Knife. A few of the portages are across the border. I assume that those are the ones we are supposed to use, but what about the last one on the Knife River right before Isles of Pine Island? On the map it shows two portages. Which one are we supposed to use? Thanks. |
