I prefer to not be in the motor zones or only for a short time on entry day and usually taking a tow to get me out of the motor zone more quickly.

Thanks but I’ve looked into everything in that regard. Just asking about the fires

cyclones30: "The fires might not....but since you don't have a permit yet that may sway your decision if one is full for the day(s) you'd want to enter. " Both have permits available hence the question.

cowdoc: "To answer the fire question. The Lady Chain should not be affected. Fall Lake, not for now, but it is closer to the Quetico fires." Thank you

I did the Lady Lake chain back in 2015. It was my first BWCA trip in 22 years. I really enjoyed the route and the mix of small lakes, somewhat large lakes, and rivers. We started at EP#37 Kawishiwi and ended at EP #38 Sawbill. From Alton we ventured up through Kelso and entered Sawbill from there instead of Alton to add a few paddling hours to the trip. You should not be worried about the fires, this area is far from the current situation. I have never paddled the other route.

Will the fires up there have any effect on either trip? This will be my 4th trip and definitely my easiest. Taking my girlfriend on her first trip up there.
