Thanks much! I’ll have to spend some dedicated map time and check out that trip report.

Any thoughts on Snowbank EP for a solo boat?"

I am entering at Snowbank solo end of August. Have used this EP solo already 3 of last 4 years. Other than the potential big lake wind and waves issue for start and end, there are good options for a lollipop route.

I read a trip report a year or two ago ( tried to paste link below) that covered the Mugwump PMA. It is likely a stretch from Snowbank for a 4 day trip tho.

A relatively manageable ( as said from a double portage paddler) 4 day from EP27 could be Snowbank-Disappointment- Jitterbug-Adventure- Cattyman- Jordan- Ima for day one. Jordan NW campsite gets high reviews for shorter stop, and Thomas is reachable for the motivated paddler.

From Thomas you can take the 240R portage toward Alice. Beautiful lake with some great beach sites, but likely to see people. You are close to the pictographs on Fishdance here as well. From Alice over to Insula- Kiana- Thomas and pick your last nights lake; Thomas, Ima, etc.

The small lakes NE of Thomas accessed thru Fraser have been quiet in the past. Not sure this year with our whole new world. Shepo, Saugus. Mugwump PMA can be accessed this way.

Good luck with plan B.

Of those....LIS S is very remote right away and this year especially w/ the low water. Not long ago was a report of lots of weeds and mud.

I'm open to suggestions, but those are my options at this point.

Hey all. I had a great plan A, with LIS N as an entry, permits for 4 days in Weeny Lake PMA. And, of course, odds are good that I'm not going to be able to do any of that.

But I still want to do a PMA, if possible. I have posted in the PMA group, but as this is an unusual summer, I figure I'd appeal to a wider base.

I'm planning on about 8 days in the BWCA. This isn't my first trip. I've also been to Woodland Caribou, Wabakimi, and Quetico. I don't fish, but I do want to explore and, as possible, get away from people.

Right now my choices for entry are LIS South, but I'm not sure how that would be this year with the water levels as they are. It's a bit of a trip to the PMA from the entry point.

My other choice would be going in Little Gabbro and going to Weasel Lake. Probably more water, but also more people.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. I haven't been to either of these areas, so I'm trying to figure out which way would work best. Thanks!
