Captn Tony: "Sounds like it will work fine. Will be there July 10th and head into Sawbill on the 11th."

I would make a reservation for a site @ recreation.gov.

I could see July 10 being pretty busy there. Only about half the sites are reserve-able. The others are first come first served. A lot of people travel there and take day trips into the BW.

theshrewdloon: "I'm a regular there and I've seen people pack a lot of tents and hammocks into one site.

Last year during the fishing opener weekend a group of probably nine guys showed up at the site next to mine and I swear they each had their own sleep system. At least four tents, a few hammocks, and there were even hammocks doubled up vertically on trees. It was actually quite ridiculous and they were disruptive af.

Please be noise conscious if you've got a group. "

I think I must have been camped beside that group in 2020. They had hammocks stacked like bunk beds. Where up into the wee hours being very loud. Only bad experience I have ever had there.

The sites are pretty big. People park Motorhomes in them

I've been there many times and every campsite I've been on would have easily accommodated 3 or more tents. A really nice feature of that campground is that they have showers at the outfitters site ( for a price).

When will you be there? I will be in site #5 from May 23 for 4 nights.

The limit is the number of bodies, not how closely they're packed together:

"Maximum of nine people per site. There is space for one vehicle and one towed vehicle (such as a boat trailer). Additional vehicles on the site require additional half fee and must park on the spur. No vehicles may park on the grass or where they impede traffic."

It's probably best to reach out to Sawbill Outfitters and ask about the rules. I have stayed at several sites that easily can accommodate two large tents and maybe 3 or 4. Not sure about drainage though in a heavy rain. It's a great campground and the operators don't get any better.

I'm planning on spending a night a the campground before heading into the bdub. So I'm wondering how many tents are allowed on a campsite? I see a maximum of 9 people but no tent # restriction. Also would there be enough room for 3 tents if three tents are allowed?
Thanks
