Thanks for the info. We will be heading in on Friday.

We walked everything through. Some of the spots I got water to my knees. Rocks are slippery

Thank you both for the information. I usually do not take rubber muck boots on my trips. I have water proof 9”boots. Normally that works out great but if I know I will be wading in water and muck I will bring the boots.

The Horse holds enough water to be navigable in most conditions. There are a fair amount of well hidden random rocks and rocky areas that require a portage or lift over or some combination to get around. The section from the last portage on the Horse to the Basswood river can be very difficult in low water, mucky, thick and slow, difficult if the boat lacks enough water to float.

We’re you able to walk the canoe with a rope or did you need to wet foot it in the river?

It took us 5-5 1/2 hours from entry to LBWF, single portaging

Thanks for the reply. How long do you estimate it took to get from Horse lake through the Horse River?

Was there last Sunday. It's low, real low. There's at least one extra portage and many get out and walk situations.

We are looking at a trip up to Crooked from Mudro the first week of October. Any information on the Horse River conditions (low or high water or portage issues ) would be appreciated.

Thanks
