09/14/2025 06:42AM We were there in August, went for a day trip from Fourtown north. Stopped for lunch on the rock slabs right at the entrance to the creek, and a family of 4 in 1 canoe started up. We waited a bit before starting. When we got to the first dam they were stuck on it. The girl in front was trying to pull them across, 2 kids in the middle didn’t want to get out, and dad in back was trying to push without getting out. Eventually they got across. We decided there probably were many more dams ahead and it would be very frustrating for us to be behind them all the way so we turned around and explored other areas. |

09/13/2025 11:04PM It's very beautiful but this summer when I did it there were 10 beaver dams. None very hard to navigate, but it got a little tedious by the end. As long as you're heading from Moosecamp to Fourtown it's totally doable! |

09/13/2025 08:24PM I’m late joining this one. But as of August 2025 there are about 15 beaver dams to cross. The portages are much easier and faster than this route. It’s not a tranquil float down the river! |

07/30/2024 08:26AM Our group paddled down the Moosecamp River 2 years ago (2022) without issue. That was our second trip after having been down it back in 2012, again with no issues at that time. Yes, there are a couple of pullovers but nothing that is tough. |

07/29/2024 05:26PM wxce1260, I paddled down it a bit from Moosecamp Lake in late September (2018) and found it a struggle.. didn't make it to the famed big beaver dam.. Note there are several.. Suggest you do a search on this group as there are many posts and trip reports.. DMan5501 |

07/27/2024 01:13PM Hi! Looking at a Mudro/Fourtown/Moosecamp/Fourtown/Tin Can Mike loop. I was recommended to do Moosecamp to Fourtown southbound on my way out. I am aware of the lilly pads etc.. Just wondering if anyone has taken it recently and verify the water levels for navigability? I've never floated that creek before and am kind of excited to explore it if it makes sense. Solo trip with about 40 pounds of gear plus me, so I won't be floating deep in the water. |
