06/04/2025 01:28PM That is a good analogy. Coming back from US Point the last time was down right scary. Winds were howling and three to four foot rollers. If I thought I could have made it safely to shore, I would have paddled in that day. So, if we could get to the point in 1.5 hours, I should probably plan on 3 hours to ubf. Thank you and God bless. |

06/04/2025 11:36AM Should take about twice as long as it took you from Lincoln Island to US Point. Three hours is accurate in ideal conditions. That's a lot of lake up there and ideal conditions probably only exist 20% of the time. If the wind is wrong, you could always get dropped off in Back Bay and take the portage so you can come up to Upper Basswood Falls from the south. |

06/01/2025 05:44PM Hello I am planning a paddle with my buddy to Basswood falls after being dropped off on Lincoln Island via taxi. Does anyone have an idea on how long this paddle would take? I've paddled to United States Point before and camped just to the west. It wasn't a bad paddle at all. The wind was good going there, but terrible coming out. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance |
