01/17/2026 09:08AM Does anyone know if the Forest Service will be removing the beaver dams this winter? Concerned funding shortages to address those dams may result in a tougher paddle in the spring. |

10/24/2025 06:24AMPinetree: "that aways looked moosey, but never seen any moose-have you?" 3 years ago our departure from the lake was postponed while a young cow moose hung out in the mouth of hog creek. |

09/19/2025 08:14PMPinetree: "that aways looked moosey, but never seen any moose-have you?" I didn't see any on my trip but the outfitter said he saw the biggest bull he'd ever seen along Hog Creek a few years ago. |

09/19/2025 07:08AM That sounds like my experience there 3 years ago. Same time of year. It was by far the most brutal paddling I've ever done. I swore I'd never paddle that Hog Creek again unless the water was high lol. |

09/18/2025 07:04PM Wow, 45 minutes one way on that river. Doubt a beaver could make it that fast. I was a BWCA ranger for a few years and that river route would take us ~2 hours each way. |
