Yep. :)

I encountered this in the archives, and I hope a wonderful anniversary trip happened. My crew went there one year later, and coming out of the narrows from the portage from Beaverhouse into Quetico, encountered the "Hudson's Bay blow" with huge north winds and 3-4 foot waves. We made it to the sandy narrows on the south, swamped, and camped across the narrow neck portage to West Bay for two wind blown days before continuing on a beautiful sunny trip through Cirrus.

Last year, returned with son, 2 granddaughters and a friend for a glassy smooth trip in the same area. May try it again next year. Wonder what the wind will do?

Don't forget a net bag and rope to sink the wine for a few hours.

You're close now. :)

78 days = 6,739,200 seconds "

YUP- What Bill and Adam said. Come out of the BH falls portage area into the river. When exiting the river into main Quetico lake, take a right. All sand with great beach area and shallow water for easy & safe wading/swimming.

We have come to call it "the drag" as it is so short we usually carry the canoes across loaded (4 guys).

By the way - sand beach on BOTH sides of the drag = main lake side and west bay side. A "make do" camp site there also.

There is a very nice sandy beach - for a sunny day perhaps - at the south shore of Q Lake - just a little south from the portage from BH where there is a short portage across an isthmus. A little sun and beach blanket time."

What Bill said!

Yes! Originally, our 10 year anniversary was to fly to Orlando, FL and visit the Disney Resort for a week. Then, last year while coming out of the Boundary Waters, I ask my wife would she rather do a fly-in on our 10 year or Disney? (just trying to feel her out) To my surprise, she says she wants to do the fly-in. Now how many wives do we know that would say that over a resort hotel with massages and fine dining?

But, we are going to do a fly-in, and fly-out. It's just once in our lives to do this. We just got back from a trip, and now we are getting some new gear toether for this one and Drew at Piragis is helping us with all the permits, etc. That's who we are using for the flights, and permits, etc.

Of course - I just assumed it was a part of the anniversary - flying in. Much less expensive to drive and park.

Right, not designated, but shown on the maps as a campsite...

Nice pics and writings. Where is that site with all the shade where you could just walk 20 seconds to some sun? That's the ideal camnpsite for me. I love the shaded campsites...

Great area. See my trip report. The point on the island at the eastern end of an island where I camped after coming from Kasakokwog is very nice, but the site in the eastern most bay to Cirrus would be very secluded and pleasant for an anniversary base camp - I just toured there.

And if you are in to exploring, I think there must be a site on the north side of Eden Island (how suitably named island can you get for an anniversay?) kind of well up the side of the hill that forms teh north west corner - north of the bay/inlet that is on the east side. Poke along the shore and I'm sure you will see some signs of a landing. I saw a canoe in the woods and smoke up through the trees about 3/4 of the way up the hill.

I've just been there once but from being there and reading, there must be a lot of great sites on this lake. And the one in my report on Beaverhouse was fantastic - if you can't wait to get past the portage.

You do know PCD? Worth a review. Or reach out to Stumpy - he knows this area really well.

I am looking to celebrate my 10 year anniversary with my wife by us doing a fly-in to Beaverhouse Lake.

Anyone ever went this way? As you know, you'll make the 24 rod portage into Quetico Lake and find a spot to set up camp. There are designated campsites, and you can choose your own.

If you have been there, what are some good areas for camping? And, of course fishing. Also, what were your best lures you used. I eat everything we catch if it is legal. I'm not out for a specific fish, so, your tips are welcome. Thanks!
