There was a little slush in the area we camped but that was it.

Took a quick 2 night trip this past weekend to harass some lakers. The weather was brutal, not at all what I am used to during the second half of March. We battled a strong headwind on the trip in on Saturday. The wind along with all the sugary snow on the lakes prevented us from reaching our destination. Usually by this time in March there has been some melting so the snow is packed down nicely. I woke up on Sunday morning and the thermometer read -20. The northern lights were fantastic. Sunday we day tripped to the spot we originally intended to camp at and fished hard all day. The lake trout were fairly cooperative. Our trek out on Monday was really windy again. Here is a limit of dinky lake trout we kept.
