12/28/2013 07:25PM I tried several over the years I find that a full zipper is much easier to control heat from. |

12/23/2013 10:25AMquote Frenchy19: "Too bad Wintergreen is no longer around..." I just bought a red, full zip Wintergreen anorak on Ebay for $100. It was used, but in perfect condition. |

12/11/2013 05:55PMquote tonyyarusso: "The Empire ones look great, but holy cow are they expensive..." That's what I thought. I think they do put time into making them. also it would be a lifetime investment. A substitute would be a good wind or ski shell with hood a little on the big side. |

12/11/2013 02:45PM Mine was one of the first if not the first black parka Kevin made. He wore it himself for a season then dumped in on me for $50. Best money I have ever spent ;) I did have to have him add the coyote ruff, and I would like him to add a couple pockets in the front like the newer versions have. |

12/11/2013 10:57AM I have two, both from Empire Wool & Canvas, one is black with a zipper, the other is Snowshoe Hare which is a pullover. I like the zipper parka and tend to use it more often, although I have had it longer. Both have ruffs which I wouldn't do without. For pullovers-Lure of the North would be the way to go since Empire is not selling the pullovers this year and Wintergreen is out of business. |

11/22/2013 06:42AM Contemplating buying their kit and sewing one myself. Of course I have zero experience on the sewing machine but a person has to start somewhere. |

11/20/2013 07:32PM Check out Lure of the North. If you're at all handy, they sell kits for Anoraks reasonably. Wouldn't be hard to modify for a zipper. There Anoraks also include a coyote ruff, which I find essential. Dave and Kie not only sell em, they use em. They know of what they speak. |

11/20/2013 11:08AM Anyone here have an Anorak and can give me their opinion on how well you like it. I'm not a big fan of pull overs so I am looking at a full zipper. Also what brand do you have? I noticed that this year Empire Company states they don't have canvas supplies for their cheaper Anoraks. |
