There were many great photos this month which make me pine for some time in camp.

The winner of the May Photo Contest goes to thecanoeman! Congratulations! The winner of the trip report contest is kanoes for his first but not last solo adventure! L.t. Sully picks up the bonus hat we give away each month.

The winners of the photo and trip report contest will also receive a hat and also a CD copy of the Wilderness Passages magazine and DVD.

Sorry, I've never done this before so I thought I had it. Guess not. But it's up now. Enjoy!
kanoes 06/06/2008 06:24PM

Moose Plums....I assume those are brothers, or the result of an early cloning experiment that went horribly awry!
Wilderness Paddler 06/03/2008 06:34PM
Yep, Bannock, that's the one. Nice site, lot of room.
Bannock 06/02/2008 11:33AM
I like the Caribou Lake picture. Is that the Caribou by Lizz Lake. In fact, is that the campsite right across from the portage into Lizz Lake?
Bannock 06/02/2008 11:31AM
I like that campsite on Allen, especially as a solo site.

What could make a camp better than being in the BWCA with friends and family.

This month's picture topic reminded me of something funny posted on another board a few years ago - the word "castrametation." It means "the art of setting up or laying out a camp." What a great word! And of course it lends itself to all sorts of funny puns. Try to fit it into your next trip report!

Great shot, moose plums.

You guys could be the BWCA version of the Hanson Brothers.

I dig the all jeans get up. :) I used to wear those jean jackets. Oh yeah. Mine had pockets for your hands and also a sweet sheep skin collar.

But really Mr. Barley, were you hiding out from the the law or something? :)

Here's my favorite BWCAW photo in all my 4 old albums. A friend took it on Seagull on the last night of a trip in the early '90's. Don't smoke my pipe any more, but I always enjoyed that evening "Smoke" by the campfire while listening to the "Loon music." WW
