I called and secured a permit for the first week in June, I tried the website with poor results. The phone call wasn't a whole lot better but I did get the permit. So here's my question, I know I need to pay the balance when I get there, can I use a credit card?
They gave me a confirmation number, I assume that's all I need to provide them. I'm guessing they aren't going to mail me anything.
If you didn't guess it's our first trip to the quetico!!

yes, you'll use your credit card. you can also purchase your fishing license and ontario outdoors card at the ranger station but that adds to your wait time, best to do that ahead of time online. also, if you're coming back out the same way you can always pick up a few souveniers... patches, books, t-shirt, maps

If you think you'll purchase things at the ranger station, join Friends of Quetico, who is the operator if the "store" and get a 10% discount.

As Mocha says, all you need is the res number and they can look them up by name if you forgot it.

If your credit card is per chance a bank/credit union debit card, be sure to let said bank/credit union know that you will be using your card in Canada. Last year at PP, I ran into a 3 hour plus fiasco because my debit card (I do not have any credit cards) would not go though. I neglected to inform my credit union that I would be using the card in Canada, and this almost ended a trip before it started.

It is always a good idea to notify your agency issuing you a credit card that you will be using it outside US. This is also true of ATM cards (and you will need a 4-digit pin number for the ATM card outside the US).

As for fishing license and Ontario card. I'd highly recommend that you get that early (like before you depart from home). This can be achieved online by using the Ontario MNR site.

And if you are entering from the southern part of the park, don't forget your Remote Access Border Crossing (RABC) permit. You can get information about this and download the necessary form (which you have to mail in with your payment) at THIS WEBSITE.
