Many know my story of late. September 12th 2015 I ended up in the hospital with a chest full of blood clots. After being admitted they put me on warfrin to prevent hopefully more. I got a headache early on. But in the hospital I was in so much pain from the clots the headaches were dwarfed. I was prescribed more of the same and seeing the blood doctor he said six months of the warfrin treatment unless I continue over the road driving (then it would be warfrin for life). I was told early on its a new medicine so the headache was no concern. They got nasty bad... doctor said go see a chiropractor. Bad idea, made it fifty times worse. Then it was go see a physical therapist, it worked... but only lasted a day or so. Then I was told I was depressed. Meanwhile, I went back to the blood dr. He wasn't happy, he said if he'd known he would have switched meds. That was last April. Imagine having a migrane intensity headache for a year and a half. Last June I switched Dr's. My new and current Dr has me as his "most critical" patient. So I went from just depressed to a busy Dr's most critical. Fast forward. This past Sunday I was having terrible muscle spasms. I even left church half way through the message. Like a canoe trip where I'd rarely cut it short because of anticipation... I was needing to be there. I stood in back just outside the doors of our little chapel. Those spasms hit my hard, no warning. I tried gracefully to move down the hall. Keith was ushering that day. He saw me and immediately layed his hands on me and prayed. Now, I've been prayed for many times. But I really needed this?... I don't know. Church had let out and we didn't notice. He finished, I thanked him and off we went. By Tuesday I'm noticing I'm feeling a lot better. Wednesday? Same thing! Now Thursday is when our men's group meets. As we're talking I realize what really happened. I honestly don't think I had another muscle spasm since I was prayed over. I still hurt a bit. But the migraine type pain is actually tolerable pain now. I recently had shots to my neck. They didn't seem to be worth it... until now. Wow, what a great thing! I think the current pain is dwindling. Going almost six days and no spasms yet... they were a daily thing before this. I feel freed! Thank You Lord Jesus! I came so close to losing all hope. Thanks for listening.

One week... no spasms. Still sore and helps a ton to wear the neck brace. But I'm also from the school where you don't want to depend on them things if you don't have to. But there is healing yet to be done. But praise God for the healing this far. I'm getting my canoe out this week. Making a run to the west coast and I think I'll have room to take mine to paddle. Whoo hoo. Sometimes you can pray once and sometimes it may take many prayers. This is a testimony to not give up. When I wanted to give up it seemed like I was never ready to. Last Sunday I could have kept going home. But I felt I had to go back in there. I did and the rest is history. Had I not I may be still enjoying those lovely muscle spasms. They were once again dashing my hopes to go paddling. Just a thought... when the Spirit leads, follow. How do you hear that leading? Well, I found being in the Word very helpful. And in fellowship with like minded people just like in canoeing we connect with people on this site. And prayer. I'm thankful for all who have kept me in their prayers. All I can say is we have so many to continue to pray for... it's just very neat to me that there is so many people with caring hearts still out there. After all, it's what is in your hearts that matter. Life now is very confusing, but life in Christ is pretty clear. Repent, recieve and love... patience, perseverance, and faithfulness helps too. Sorry for rambling, I'm kind of flying high right now. Paddling to me is a form of worship... not just being out there at awe with what we see and experiance. But the time we have to pray, fellowship and being in the Word. Happy Paddling!

I'm praising God today regarding His mercy towards you. Your suffering and recent deliverance reminds me of these scriptures.

Wonderful!!! great to hear Ben!
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Why is Christ called the Wonderful Counselor

It never ends for me I guess. Went in Saturday morning thinking blood clots are back... no, pneumonia instead. And oh, by the way... your psa number is double. Might want to see a urologist. Yikes!

Yep, Dr hinted rather bluntly he figured I'll be having my prostrate removed today. Next appointment mid June. Could have done it sooner, but I'll be in Canada that day. But I feel it is a praise because had I not gone in for the pneumonia who knows when I'd be checking in.

Ok, hope dwindled a little today. Saw an orthopedic surgeon who showed me what they are seeing. Kind of scary right now. I'm going to see a specialist at u of mn on friday. The guy I saw today was very kind. I have issues all over the place. Seems I've heard biopsies in the shoulder are pretty painful.

Hang in there Ben! Biopsies are not fun anywhere they are taken! In 2008 I had Prostate Cancer determined by a Biopsy of the prostate... I will not go into details, but my wife told me if looks could kill the doctor would have been a goner! I will be praying for you and your situation!! If you have any questions feel free to ask! Been there and done that on the Prostate Cancer!

Thanks bruce... it's amazing to me that I happened to get pneumonia and they happened to check psa... then the radiologist happened to see something in my shoulder and had my doctor order xrays... then mri. If I didn't have pneumonia when I did I would still be going along undiagnosed and untreated. But tomorrow I'll be down at the university of Minnesota seeing an orthopedic specialist for what I have going on. Cancer is the concern as for whatever reason the prostrate is linked to what is going on in my shoulder or arm. A fellow firefighter, the guy who mentored me when I first joined... waited until the pain was too much. He finally went in and by that time it was stage four cancer. And he didn't last long.
So I'm still and always will praise God with unbelievable praise!
