We saw our first hummingbird at the feeder this morning. We'll have to pull the feeder tonight as it's supposed to be a low of 28.

Our peach tree is full of blooms, so it will be a tough year for peaches at our house. Don't expect them to make it if it really does get down that low.

Since that first sighting at the feeder 3 weeks ago, we haven't seen anymore hummingbirds. Very disappointing to have no activity.

We ended up having a banner year for hummingbirds. At the height of the season, we were filling our 1 pint feeder every day. That's more activity for us than ever before. We hadn't had any activity for about 2 weeks, so I was going to pull the feeder last weekend. I decided to leave it up a little longer. On Tuesday, we must have had some late season travelers come through. The feeder was busy and they drained a quarter pint of food. Nothing since then though.

Sounds like a wonderful experience. We had a bird or two visit flowers this summer, but they ignored the feeder.
