Hey Folks,

I've got a SR17 used rental. Of course, it's all scratched up. In my research I've seen 2 schools of thought on how to "refinish" it.

1.) Epoxy like West Systems
2.) Marine Varnish

So, which is it? I feel like the boat is structurally sound. It has a small, interior patch from the outfitter. Looks like they did a fine job.

I just want it to look a little nicer and last a long time.

Thanks,

Jeff

Touch up gouges and very deep scratches with epoxy (you may not have either). Then a coat of spar varnish over the entire hull.

No "deep" gouges. Just a LOT of scratches.

In this case, do I do any sanding?

Or just spar varnish?

Thanks for the help.
