Never owned one but my bow partner brings one up and is happy with the protection provided.

This message on the tag got me curious: "Wear only a T-shirt or less underneath it. Any other clothing needed can be worn *over* THE ORIGINAL BUG SHIRT." The product seems more like a shell jacket that serves as a top layer. Does it really work better when closer to the skin?
