I'd like to make some hobo meals in tin foil with chicken breast. Does anyone or has anyone else tried this? My nephew has never been camping before and is a picky eater. Any idea what the cooking time is? Until it steams for a while? Vegies tender?

A few threads down , (ranch potatoes) some would call this a hobo meal , either way it is a meal by itself and very tasty

We used to do it with hamburgers. 20-30 minutes among the coals would do it. I'm assuming a chicken breast would be in the last half of that window of time. Of course, it depends on what else is in the foil and how much of it.

I agree. 10-15 minutes, then flip and leave on for 10-15. When you can leave an indentation on a sliced potato with the end of your spat, then it is done.

The smaller the pieces, the faster it will cook, and vice versa. A whole chicken breast will take longer than strips or 1-inch cubes.

Doing foil packets with chicken and veggies in it done on a grill takes about 30-40 minutes. but that's ON a grill not down in coals so it would probably take a bit less time. More around the 30 minute mark.
