Any experience helping a scout troop plan for this? Resources? Outfitters? Would like to kayak and camp on the islands. Are there other recommended activities?

Hm, I know our council's summer camp offers "high adventure" trips to the Apostles.... You could try reaching out to their program director to see if they'd give you info on who they use for local logistics. They also are happy to work with out of council units, we get lots of troops and crews from councils in IL, WI, MN, and MI

My troop did a high adventure trip to the Apostles several years ago. We did the program through the Samoset Council in Weston, WI. They ran a top notch program, and I highly recommend it. Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss.
