I always buy my license ahead of time, so this is just a hypothetical question. Has anyone been stopped on the water by a ranger and checked? I'm curious what they would do if only one paddler is a fisherman and has a valid license and the other is not, but he still has to store tackle and rods in his end of the canoe because his buddy just has so much stuff.
I know it seems like kind of a far-fetched scenario, but I'll bet it has happened. Does any one how the rules cover such a situation?
I have been checked several times in Quetico. If the other person is not seen fishing, there really isn't anything the rangers can do when that individual doesn't have a license.
