Sounds like a great trip except for the occasional "View" (LOL)? Enjoyed the flying fish and flying dog story, I'm still grinning just picturing it!

This was a great read. I laughed a lot at your flying dog. Sounds like she had a good time aside from the fish attack! Loved all the beautiful pictures.

Thanks for checking out our story. We had a great time, and are still laughing when we think of Lil jumping out of the canoe. We could have done without our view of the moon! LOL!

Thank you for posting your trip report. We were down there over Labor day weekend. Fought a headwind all the way there. That didn't go over well with my wife. We stayed on the single site in the island just out of Karl so it sounds like you were at the same campsite that we were. We too would have a had a moon to look at if someone had stayed at that site as you can see it from the island campsite. Thanks again for a nice trip report.

sounds like a great trip for you and your hubby and dog! i was in that area right after ice-out in May... seems like forever ago. your description of the portage landings is spot-on! brought back memories of trying to land on ice and rocks. sorry you had to deal with the nudist..but it is nature, after all! maybe he only had one set of clothing and it was drying.... :). you had some great fishing success. i am unaware of any bluegill or crappie down in that area so was reading with anticipation of you catch.

it's a long drive from NE but well worth it. thanks for sharing your trip.

In case you missed it, the mother you encountered who was travelling with her two young sons also posted a trip report, in which she says, "Hi" to you and your husband.

Thanks for reading our story! Glad you got to stay at that campsite. We loved it. We fought head winds when we were day tripping, but luckily the day in and out went well.

Mocha Thanks for reading our story and it is a long way from Nebraska but it was worth it! We were hoping to get into crappie, but the big fish changed all that. Glad you enjoy the BWCA! It must have taken our neighbor a long time to dry his outfit! hahah!Ruth

Thanks, enjoyed your report and pictures. That must have been a pretty wild scene with the northern in the canoe and your dog!
