I'm taking my Olympus Tough point and shoot along with my Go Pro Hero 3+ on this trip and really want to do a better job of documenting my trip. If you were in my shoes what size and how many SD/Micro SD would you bring? I had no idea hoe many different types of card are out there, and hoe much they can cost!

Thanks for the help,
Griff

i'd get the most your camera can handle. you can also view and delete each day since you'll probably take lots!! each day :). how long is your trip. i've used 2 on an 18 day trip w/o deleting each day. could have gotten by with 1. i took over 700 photos on that trip.

more important would be spare batteries. i usually have 3 fully charged batteries since there is no way to charge them out there. videos use up more batter. on my camera using the zoom also uses more battery for some reason.

5 years ago, I loaded my trusty Canon PowerShot ELPH 520HS with a Kingston 16 GB Class 10 MicroSD flash card for $16.99 on Amazon. I never take it out nor feel the need to carry a spare as I can shoot over 5,000 stills or up to an hour of video at the resolution levels I have chosen.

I take to two 32gb Sandisk cards and have not run out of space yet. Buy the fastest card your camera can use (read/write speed). My last trip (10 day Solo) I took over 500 picks in raw + 900 jpegs(time laps) and only just started the 2nd card. 1 + on spare batteries. I ran out of power on my last day and wished I had one more. Long exposure , time laps use lots of power.

Thanks folks, it's a 7 day trip. I've got a 64gig in the go pro with a 32 for backup and a 16gb in the camera. A couple spare batteries and a solar charger to hopefully keep them fresh. Time lapse photos will definitely be in order, I always talk about it but then get wrapped up in the trip and never take the time to set them up. 7 days tell departure, can't wait!
