I have a sister that lives north of Brainard and they had crazy bad storms in the area. It took down 20 trees. I expected to come out here and see a thread on another blowdown. Was this an isolated area or did this affect anyone else. Maybe white wolf could comment.

Thanks.

Sept 19th Storm reports

Also-- keep abreast of the weather tomorrow-- the tornado threat is quite high for the time of year.

TorCon levels of 4 are high for that part of MN even in June.

We had a big blow down in Downeast Maine about a week back. There's a white pine on the ground just outside my office window. Quite a thud when it hit. It's too thick for my chain saw and too thick for me to lug the logs. We lost power, but we lose power five to ten times every year and can live without the grid without much hullabaloo. We have a generator, but most outages, don't even start it. Too noisy.

Those were probably the same winds that were tornadoes here in Ohio......

daniellewatson: "Hello, I would like to add my point of view to this thread. I haven't seen the storm you were talking about. Nevertheless, I was a witness of another one when I wanted to do my coursework and accidentally there was a strong wind which almost blows everything away. That was terrifying."

Well hello, glad to see you on the boards! Welcome!

Interesting, only about a 1/10 inches of rain yesterday and the lake was mostly glass in Detroit Lakes. I went for a paddle with the dog.
