Well, our Troop is going to Isle Royale. My son is going to go. Kinda bummed I can't. I still have one week of school left!

Gonna be the first time he has done any high adventure without me. But it will probably be good for him as well.

Your son will love it. Are they backpacking or canoeing? Assuming that they're backpacking, do they have a route selected? I've been to IR three times... once when I was 14, once with our Scout Troop in 2003 and once with my (now) wife in 2013. I put IR on the same experience level as the BW or Q. They're different, but both are fantastic outdoor experiences.

On our 2013 trip, we backpacked the island from Rock Harbor to Windigo. Very cool and rewarding. Let me know if I can be of any help.

They wanted to do canoeing, but since I couldn't go, there wasn't the experience in leadership (Paddle Craft Safety Certification) so they are going to hike.

But they will still have a great time.
