Please advise. I am thinking/planning the river adventure this May 5th. I am in possession of kevlar Wenonah canoes. Will I be safe to navigate the upper St.Croix in such a water craft? High water most likely.
I am planning to put in at Gordon location. Never paddled this river before. I am at the leisure of having kevlar that has plenty of tripping in it. Minor scratches won't bother me. I have researched this route. All I need is permission to take a kevlar boat on that run of the river.
Thank you.

I know from where the Namekagon river enters down to Riverside landing it is pretty rocky. We used our Wenonah Spirit II in Tuff weave and had no major problems with hitting rocks.

sand bars in the middle of the river on the lower stretches were a pain if you had a canoe with a keel.... Can't recall many rocks.... but boy I remember the ticks....
After the first scratch the pain lessons anyway. My once beautiful green SR has been varnished a couple times already. The first scratch was on the Peshtigo river from the town to the harbor.... it hurt
