Found this video on Outside Magazine's website. Sure, the main character isn't paddeling a canoe, but he goes through an experience all solo adventures can relate too. Plus the scenery is wonderfully big and daunting.

In summery, Ben Page is biking all the continents of the world solo. He crossed South America and this video shows his final steps on completing North America.

I'm considering a solo this summer (if my partners can't make it - which looks likely at this point). This would be my second trip in the B-dub and never an overnight alone (I will definitely do some local camping solo before this summer if I end up going alone). I have had a lot of the thoughts he talked about in the video. Granted, my voyage will be much, much tamer. I'm planning on doing the Cherokee Loop in July. So I certainly won't be out there all alone. I'll see people - hopefully not too many. I'm a naturally gregarious person but also introspective and enjoy going my own pace in life, along with occasional solitude, and I value my independence. I think these traits will serve me well. It's only four nights so I think it's a safe first solo.

But the video is definitely good stuff. I applaud anyone bold enough to take on an adventure of that magnitude.
