Hey everyone, we've begun a new project using Youtube to answer questions and chat about Woodland Caribou in detail. We have a TON OF videos to follow, but to kick things off, here is one we did about campsites....Hope everyone enjoys.
Good information, especially about the accuracy of the online data and the effects of the fire ecology. I am amazed that you've actually surveyed 2000+ campsites. Having only been in Quetico prior to my 2015 trip to WCPP, I felt perfectly at home in the WCPP campsites. It is really great to be able to say, "Let's aim for the site on the point (or where ever)," and know that there is a 99% probability that the site will be unoccupied.
The campsites are one of the best things about WCPP. They are not worn down to the roots or have elaborate log structures around an oversized fire ring. Lots of easy firewood to be had.
