Has anyone been into White Feather Lake (in PMA) off of Stuart River, south of Stuart Lake? I am wondering if there is enough water to get in there in late May?
Also, how will Stuart River be in late May, as far as traveling north? Thanks!

My son and I paddled in there pretty easily couple years ago same time of year on our way Sterling. Nice campsite on the lake.
I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately, . . , and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. Thoreau

Thanks to all who offered advice ….. we just got back on Wednesday from a great few days in BWCA. White Feather was accessible, and enjoyed watching 5 swans on the lake. Sadly, someone had cut some green trees and a LOT of Balsam boughs (for 'bedding') at the unofficial camp site. None-the-less, a lovely trip on the "5-rivers route." Stuart River-White Feather Lake - Stuart R. - Stuart Lake - Dahlgren R. - Boulder R. - Agnes L. - Nina Moose R. - Nina Moose L. - Moose River. No other traffic on the rivers (until Moose), and great camps along the way. Met 17 boats going north when we left Agnes, but Agnes quiet and we were only people camping on Nina Moose, so I guess it was all fishing types headed for the border lakes. NO mosquitoes, black flies amping up, some ticks. Lots of waterfowl, grouse, beavers, and swans. Many plants in bloom. Some trees just leafing out. We caught a perfect weather window (after the cool rain Saturday) -- calm winds, moderate temps - absolutely beautiful. To quote a kind gentleman I ran into on the last portage out, "I come out [of the BWCA] a better person." I cherish the BWCA, and so grateful we can still 'do this!'
